5 February – Car Boot Sale
Our monthly Rastro/Boot Sale is in a lovely spot alongside Rio El Padron at the EDEN BAR restaurant.

Stallholders: it is advisable to bring a groundsheet – the terrain is a field. Also a sun umbrella + stand as there are no shady spots and a table and tressles if required. Setting up from 9am, not earlier, opens 10am. €10 payable at the gate, the proceeds go to our animals at ADANA.

Safe children’s grassy play area with swings. Home cooked lunch, tapas, drinks available from the EDEN BAR.

11 February – East Estepona Group
at Bar Granada opposite De’ Medici restaurant in Calle Sabinillas in El Pilar at 12.30. A light lunch will be served. The price will be 7 euros including a donation to ADANA. Please contact Eileen at tesorera@adana.es or 639 265 912 to let her know that you will be attending.

14 February – Valentine’s Day Lunch
Monday February 14th sees our now traditional Valentines Day Lunch outside Longman’s Bookshop in Plaza Manilva, Estepona.

Prompted perhaps by our recent cold weather the menu is a Pork and Bean Stew served with crusty bread and salad, followed by Apple Pie and cream for € 8 .

Drinks and coffee will be available from the Bar in the Square ( newly reopened). We will also have a Bring and Buy stall and the lunch will commence at 1.30pm, tickets available from the bookshop.952 80 0975

Feria Infantil / Children´s Fayre in Calahonda, Saturday 15th May

L.I.V.E. Charity is organising a Children’s Fayre on Saturday 15^th May in the lovely shaded ‘Parque Petanca’, Avenida de España, Calahonda (see map).

“We always try to create a fun, family oriented environment to our fundraising events” says Keith Spitalnick, Chairman of the organisation. “After a long, wet winter, what better way to raise money for those less fortunate than a family fun day”

There will be lots going on for all the family to enjoy; bouncy castle, face painting, games and activities, great prizes to win, entertainers and live music throughout the day and food and drink.

There will also be a variety of stalls of children-related products to browse as well as a jumble sale and second hand toy stall.

Entrance to the Fayre is free of charge.

Calling All Animal Lovers …

Charity Treasure Hunt in the Guadiaro Valley

THE Guadiaro Independent Traders (GITs), a business group from the Guadiaro valley, is holding a charity car treasure hunt in aid of Cudeca on Saturday 10th April 2010 in the Benaojan. Cortes de la Frontera, Jimera de Libar and Montejaque area near Ronda.

If you own a car and want to discover our Secret Andalucia and have a family fun day out while supporting a charity, then this is the event for you.

The hunt will commence at 11am at Bar Allioli in Estacion de Jimera de Libar, where registration will take place and then cars will depart on their adventure!

Each team (two persons) will be required to visit various establishments and answer questions about different sights and features of the area. Total distance covered will be approx 40 to 50 km.

Participants should buy at least one beverage in at least one of the local bars on route.

The teams can make their way back to the start at their leisure and once all the sheets are in marking will take place and prizes will be awarded which include 4 hotels stay including breakfast, wine from a local vineyard and other small prizes.

The entry fee for the event is just €5 per couple and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Cudeca Hospice to help them continue to offer the “Special Kind of Caring” to patients suffering from advanced and non-curable cancer within the province of Málaga.
